Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are not letting up in their pursuit of Premier League glory

– Palace have scored in four of Oliver Glasner’s five matches in charge
– Man City are on a 24-game unbeaten streak in all competitions
– Recommended bet:
Man City to win and both teams to score

Manchester City head to Selhurst Park on Saturday looking to keep the title pressure on both Liverpool and Arsenal with a victory over Crystal Palace.

Phil Foden inspired the Citizens to a 4-1 home victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday, the England international bagging a hat-trick, and the blue side of Manchester remain in the thick of the hunt for a fourth straight Premier League crown.

Although not mathematically safe, the Eagles have an eight-point buffer to the relegation zone and manager Olivier Glasner may already be looking to the summer transfer window as he bids to mould a Palace team in his own image.

Rob Holding, Marc Guehi, Odsonne Edouard, Christopher Richards, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Matheus Franca all feature on a lengthy Palace injury list.

Cheick Doucoure and Sam Johnstone are both out for the season but Michael Olise could be part of the Eagles’ matchday squad after a recent spell out with a thigh issue.

Defensive duo Nathan Ake and Kyle Walker have been ruled out for City, who could welcome back goalkeeper Ederson following a thigh injury.

Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were both unused substitutes against Aston Villa in midweek and are expected to be reinstalled to City’s starting line-up at Selhurst Park.

The stats

After beating Burnley 3-0 in Glasner’s first game in charge, Crystal Palace have gone four games without a victory.

The Eagles have failed to score in just one of the Austrian’s matches at the helm, although they have kept only one clean sheet since his arrival.

City are on a 24-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, last tasting defeat away to Aston Villa on December 6.

The Citizens have collected 29 points from 14 away games this season, scoring 29 goals and conceding 16.

Prediction

Manchester City’s attacking prowess was on full display in their midweek victory over Villa and they look capable of sticking a few goals past a Palace side still adapting to Glasner’s methods.

The Citizens are unbeaten in their last 11 away assignments in all competitions, scoring two or more goals in eight of those fixtures, and they will relish taking on an Eagles’ side who have conceded 50 times in the league this season.

But Pep Guardiola’s troops have been susceptible at the back this term, conceding in seven of their last eight away games in the top flight, and their defence could be breached once again.

While also struggling to keep the goals out, Palace have failed to score in just one of Glasner’s five matches and they can play their part in an entertaining spectacle.
